Let us hope Claire Danes will do more movies after the success of ‘Homeland.’ She should have earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in Little Women in 1995.

I still think if Temple Grandin was released in theaters she would’ve been an Oscar winner by now. Hopefully, after Homeland ends she gets to do more of that and less of the movie with Jim Parsons.

Claire Danes is an incredible actress, I think that she will do another TV show and doing movies in between like Elisabeth Moss does, the best actors prefer to work on TV now.

Claire Danes should really be a movie star.

I would have loved to see someone like Claire Danes in the Sandra Hüller role for the American adaptation of Toni Erdmann

Claire Danes is one of the best working actresses today. She’s absolutely fantastic and I think she should get more credit than she actually gets.

I’ve always considered her one of the most overrated actresses of her generation and I think the fact that she didn’t manage to start a successful movie career shows that she indeed is not made for stardom. She was amateurish in My So-Called Life and her foray into movies obvioulsy wasn’t successful. People did not care about her, otherwise she would have been cast more often.

I’ll admit that she has grown as an actress and her performances in Homeland and Temple Grandin are good, but she is still prone to overacting and unnatural exaggerated facial expressions.

One of these cases where a young actress rightfully didn’t become a movie star. A flash in the pan.

Those remakes are pointless and almost always have horrible reviews and poor box office performances. I do not think that anyone even remembers the remakes of masterpieces like The Secret in Their Eyes or Oldboy.

Nope, she just chose to do good and complex roles on TV, she has won ALL the awards in the world for Homeland, she has a lot of prestige and also a lot of money. Her roles on Homeland and Temple Grandin and not just good, they are excellent and they are very few actresses that would even attempt to play a character like Carrie Mathison.

I am not sure how much of that was a choice. In the 90s, all tv stars wanted to be in movies. It didn’t work out for her (for whatever reason — I assume it’s a lack of talent and charisma, you might have a different reason).

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but I do not see a young actress in the 90s intentionally not doing movies but rather going for tv. sorry …

btw, I like her in both, Temple Grandin and Homeland, but let’s not pretend that there aren’t dozens and dozens of other talented actresses out there who could have played the roles just as well (in my opinion, even better!).

What do you mean by those remakes? Do keep in mind that The Departed is a remake of a foreign film, and it won Best Picture.

Literally no one could have played Carrie Mathison as good as her. Let’s be serious, Homeland wouldn’t exist without her amazing performance.

Stop lying yourself. What are you talking about? She started to work on TV and left cinema behind in 2010, not in the 90s… Many actors were doing TV at that time. And no, no one could have played Carrie Mathison as good as her, this is a fact if you have watched all season which I am sure that you have not. You clearly have bias towards her, so that is making you deny obvious things…

Sarah Paulson and Elisabeth Moss have ton of offers for movies and they are doing really interesting things there, but both of them have said that they would not stop doing TV. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are even grater examples of that, TV is the new cinema.
